Within the Lebanese population of 5.2 million, 1.5 million are Syrian refugees, 90% of whom live in extreme poverty.
Even before the current war, children were at significant risk of child labour, lack of access to education, and both short and long term mental health issues. Now Israeli airstrikes are killing and injuring children, damaging schools and water facilities, and significantly affecting Lebanon’s health system.
